5,004 Rewarded With Promotions In Nigeria Correctional Service

On Saturday, the Nigerian Correctional Service approved the promotion of 5,004 senior officers of the service, News About Nigeria reports.

The officers who were promoted were said to have participated in the 2023 promotion exercise conducted by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board.

Their promotion was contained in a statement released by the Spokesperson of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Abubakar Umar.

According to Umar, seven controllers of Corrections were elevated to the rank of Assistant Controller General of Corrections, while 35 Deputy Controllers of Corrections were promoted to Controller of Corrections.

He also listed others promoted to different ranks, 68 Deputy Controllers of Corrections, 129 Assistant Controllers of Corrections, 426 Chief Superintendents of Corrections, 650 Superintendents of Corrections, 1,048 Deputy Superintendents of Corrections and 2,641 Assistant Superintendents of Corrections.

The Spokesperson of the Service also stated that the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa, congratulated the newly promoted officers, urging them to not relent in dutifully carrying out their jobs.

He further admonished them to brace up for the tasks ahead, as it is not going to be an easy one but one that demands hard work and commitment.

Nababa also charged those who were not promoted to not give up but remain steadfast and diligent as more opportunities abound in the future.

He further admonished them to start laying the foundation for their future promotions by playing their part diligently and effectively.

He also called on other officers in the service to partner with the newly promoted officers so they could achieve the primary objective and core values of the service.
