Bolt, a prominent ride-hailing company, has confirmed the suspension of over 5,000 drivers within the last six months due to issues related to non-compliance and safety, News About Nigeria gathered.
The announcement was made by Yahaya Mohammed, the Country Manager of Bolt, during a recent press conference in Lagos.
Mohammed highlighted the company’s commitment to safety, revealing that over N20 million had been allocated to enhance safety features, introduce advanced reporting mechanisms, and conduct awareness programs for both drivers and riders.
Emphasising safety as a top priority, Mohammed stated that Bolt’s strict compliance measures are designed to uphold safety standards and result in prompt consequences, including permanent suspension for non-compliant individuals.
He assured users that the company is taking proactive steps to ensure their well-being during every ride.
“At Bolt, the safety of all users on our platform is our top priority. We understand the trust our users place in us, and we are taking proactive steps to ensure their well-being during every ride.
“Our enhanced safety measures, stricter compliance measures, coupled with technology-driven solutions, reaffirm our commitment to providing a secure and reliable transportation experience for all,” the country manager said.
He added that Bolt remains resolute in its dedication to providing a secure and reliable transportation experience, implementing operational changes that permanently block drivers and riders reported for misconduct from accessing the platform.
