Director-General of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Akin Osuntokun, has stated that the flag bearer of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, is a role model for Nigerians.

News About Nigeria gathered that the DG made this known while sharing his thoughts on the 2023 post-election legal battle to nullify the election of President Bola Tinubu.

According to Osuntokun, Peter Obi is not desperate for power and has everything anyone could wish for in life.

He noted that Obi had no reason to be frustrated, as he does not see the aspiration to become the president of Nigeria as a personal acquisition.

He maintained that it was not a personal loss for the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, but a loss for the country.

Osuntokun further noted that it was only wise for Nigerians who have been frustrated with the status quo to find sanctuary in the Labour Party, especially members of the younger generation.

According to him, the Labour Party established credibility for itself in the last election, and there was no need for Nigerians to support the All Progressive Congress, APC, which, he noted, represents all that people cannot wish for in the country.

He added that it was despicable that the National Assembly had plans to purchase N160m Range Rovers for each member in this present condition of the country, noting that these cars were to be purchased with the same loan borrowed.

The Director-General noted that this was a sickness that had sunk deep into the country, maintaining that the masses had to fight it.

He, therefore, called on Nigerians to play their role in ensuring that the country becomes the giant of Africa, not just as a title, but in deed.
