Nollywood actress and producer, Mercy Aigbe, is beaming with pride as her daughter, Michelle Gentry, graduates from the University of Manitoba in Canada, News About Nigeria reports. 

In a open letter shared on her Instagram page, Aigbe expressed her admiration and joy at this significant milestone in her daughter’s life.

The actress, known for her roles in various Nigerian films, posted a video of herself, her husband Kazim Adeoti, and a circle of friends, including colleague Kemi Afolabi, celebrating this happy occasion with her beloved daughter.

In the video, a visibly emotional Aigbe can be seen shedding tears of joy as she witnesses her daughter receiving her degree.

In her heartfelt post, Aigbe reminisces about her daughter’s journey and their close relationship over the past 22 years.

She described how, as a mother, she initially had fears and concerns when Michelle decided to study abroad, but her daughter’s unwavering confidence and assurance eventually allayed those fears.

The actress admitted to shedding many tears over the thought of her daughter leaving her side but expressed gratitude for the decision.

She marvelled at her daughter’s growth, describing her as smart, brilliant, hardworking, and intelligent.

The proud mother further thanked Michelle for preserving the values and morals she instilled in her.

She commended her daughter’s faith, humility, and cooking skills, particularly praising her jollof rice.

Mercy Aigbe concluded the open letter by sending her best wishes and prayers for Michelle as she embarks on a new chapter in her life, expressing hope that God will guide her every step of the way.
