CAN president, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, who sent the well wishes in a felicitation message to the Muslim faithful on behalf of the association and the Christian community, called for the promotion of mutual respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence among all religions.

According to him, Nigeria’s strength lies in its diverse society, therefore, the people should promote mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.

The cleric, who also prayed that their celebration would be peaceful, urged them to also use the season as a time of reflection into the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad whom they are celebrating and to emulate his ways and pattern of life while he was on earth.

He also charged them to use the period as a time to show love to people around them, regardless of their religious beliefs as it is what will not only strengthen but also build a thriving Nation.

He said, “On behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria, I wish the Muslim faithful in Nigeria a peaceful celebration.

“As we commemorate this significant festival, we acknowledge Nigeria’s diverse society, comprising individuals from various ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. It is within this rich diversity that our strength as a nation resides.”

“Consequently, we must persist in promoting mutual respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence among all religious communities,” the Christian leader advised.”
