Nigerian indigenous rapper Zlatan, a close friend of the late singer Mohbad, struggled to hold back tears as he spoke about the passing of his colleague, News About Nigeria reports.
The emotional interview took place during the candlelight and tribute concert held in honour of the late singer on Thursday, September 21.
Zlatan, who had a close bond with the late singer, expressed his grief and shock at Mohbad’s sudden and untimely death.
During the roadside interview, Zlatan said he finds it difficult to put his emotions into words, saying, “I don’t know what to say, man. I am short of words.”
He said that he wished Mohbad hadn’t left the world in the manner he did.
Zlatan also extended his prayers for Mohbad’s soul, hoping it would find eternal peace. Zlatan concluded by expressing his hope that justice would be swiftly served regarding the circumstances of Mohbad’s tragic death.
He said: “I don’t know what to say, mehn. I am short of words. I wish Mohbad didn’t leave the way he left. And I pray that his soul continues to rest in peace. And I pray he gets the justice he needs to get regarding his death.”
Mohbad’s untimely death last week Tuesday raised suspicions and triggered public outcry.
Accusations were directed at Afeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, who is the owner of Marlian Record Label, for his alleged involvement in the singer’s demise.
However, Mohbad’s body was exhumed on Thursday afternoon and his autopsy was completed.
In the statement released by the NPF on their social media page, the police force assured the public that they would provide further information as soon as the results of the autopsy became available.
