Nigerian political commentator JJ Omojuwa has refuted claims that Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigerian president Bola Tinubu, donated N15 million to the family of the late singer Mohbad.

News About Nigeria reports that Omojuwa clarified this information in a detailed post, shedding light on his involvement in the matter.

According to Omojuwa, he has been in discussions with Seyi Tinubu for several days regarding Mohbad’s situation.

He stated that when Bella Shmurda mentioned Seyi in a tweet related to the matter, he immediately forwarded it to Seyi.

Omojuwa explained that during their discussions, he advised Seyi not to get embroiled in social media discussions due to the potential politicisation of his actions.

Instead, they decided to prioritise helping Mohbad’s family, focusing on the child’s education and immediate support for the wife.

The public figure emphasised that they were cautious due to the sensitive nature of the situation, which involved both a criminal matter and social media narratives.

He acknowledged that not all issues could be resolved through social media posts.

Omojuwa concluded by clarifying that the reported N15 million donation from Seyi Tinubu was not true, stating that he was personally involved in the matter from the beginning.

He also emphasised that the details of how Seyi would support Mohbad’s child and wife were not his to disclose, as it was a matter for those who received the support to address.

In his closing remarks, Omojuwa expressed his hope for justice for Mohbad and support for the child left behind, even after social media attention has shifted to other topics.
