Mohbad: How I Almost Lost My Life Under Five Star Music – Harrysong

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Harrysong, has recounted how he almost lost his life during his time at his former record label, Five Star Music.

The artiste’s revelation comes in the wake of the death of fellow musician Mohbad shortly after leaving his former record label, Marlians Record, which is headed by Naira Marley.

Via his Instagram story, Harrysong revealed that he might have met a similar fate as Mohbad if not for God’s grace and assistance from a few people who helped him survive the ordeal.

News About Nigeria reports that Harrysong said he had to endure abuse and hardships while trying to exit his former record label.

“If not for the grace of God, with the help of some very few good men, I would’ve also died in the hands of my former label.

“The torment, attacks, abuses and operations back to back, just because I’ve served and wanted to move out and grow a little for myself,” he said.

He explained that his decision to leave the label and pursue personal growth had led to a series of attacks and operations against him.

According to the singer, his former record label peddled false narratives about him and the general public believed it.

“It was hell for me. The general public believed everything they said about me then. Fans, supporters show promoters bullying me everywhere. In fact one of my friends said he would buy drinks, celebrate if I die of hunger and depression, am alive today just for the few that stood for me and by me.

“Because they know the true story and refuse to be influenced by lies just to kill an innocent man. Record labels should stop this do or die thingy. Killing and destroying young talents just because they want to prove label,” he said.
