SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, has indicated that the body of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, could be exhumed for an autopsy if necessary as part of the investigation into his death.

News About Nigeria reports that this statement comes amidst the controversy surrounding the death of Mohbad, who passed away under contentious circumstances on Tuesday and was subsequently buried the following day in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

In an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, SP Hundeyin affirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

He stated, “The Force PRO issued a statement this evening saying that the investigation would commence. And that is what we are going to do. If need be, the body would be exhumed. It’s not too late. The body can be exhumed, and an autopsy can be performed.”

Hundeyin further called on people with information regarding the case to bring it to the attention of the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.

He stressed the importance of harmonising the investigation process, irrespective of whether information is reported to Force Headquarters or the Lagos State Command.

“And the [Force PRO’s] statement also states that people should bring whatever information they have to the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.

“That is because we don’t want to do hierarchy anymore. Take it to Force headquarters, bring it to Lagos State command, it doesn’t matter. We are going to harmonise it within ourselves and ensure that justice is done,” he said.
