The wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Chairperson of Renewed Hope Initiative Foundation, Remi Tinubu on Tuesday donated the sum of N500 million to 500 displaced families in six local government areas of Plateau State, News About Nigeria reports.
The First Lady who made the donation to the victims in Jos, the State capital, also commiserated with the victims, encouraging them to not lose hope as her husband, President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders are working to ensure enduring peace in their communities.
Remi Tinubu also revealed that she had been troubled by the insecurity that is bedevilling the state, especially in Mangu local government.
While making her donation to the people, the wife of the President urged them to keep their faith and hope in God alive even as they go through this phase of their lives.
In her words: “This N500 million is our modest support to enable affected families to renew their lives as we provide them with the means to renew their shelter and other essential needs. To the affected families, I want you to know that you are not alone in the journey of recovery, we stand with you in solidarity and prayers. I urge you not to lose hope but to have faith in God.”
Reacting to her donation, the Governor of the state, Caleb Mutfwang lauded the wife of the President for the gesture, describing her as “a very compassionate leader who has passion for humanity and is not ready to play politics with her love for humanity.”
He also charged the beneficiaries to maximize the resources that have been provided for them and to endeavour to share with other families who are not participants of the donations.
