Skit maker Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, widely recognized as Kie Kie, has disclosed a juicy detail about her relationship with her husband, Tunji Ilori.
She revealed that they started living together before officially tying the knot due to a housing issue.
This revelation came to light during her appearance as a guest on the latest episode of the TokeMoments podcast, hosted by media personality Toke Makinwa.
Kie Kie shared the backstory, explaining that her rent had expired several months prior to their planned wedding date.
As a result, renewing her lease was not an option.
Their introduction ceremony had already taken place at this point, but they had not informed the church about their cohabitation.
She even mentioned that she was an active member of the church choir during this period.
“My husband and I started living together before we got married because my [house] rent was already due. My rent was due in September, and we were going to get married in January.
“So, I can’t renew my rent. And we had done our introduction by then. The church wasn’t aware that we were already living together. I was even singing in the church choir then,” she said.
Reflecting on her initial concerns about marriage, Kie Kie said that she had some apprehensions but eventually overcame them through prayer.
Kie Kie and Tunji Ilori got married in February 2020 and celebrated the arrival of their first child, a daughter, named Oluwashonaolami Olori, in November 2022.
