The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s court will be televised on September 6, 2023, barring any last-minute changes.
Umar Bangari, Chief Registrar of the Appeal Court, Abuja Division, revealed this.
Bangari stated that televising the final processes will increase transparency and openness.
“In a bid to promote transparency and openness, these judgements will be televised live by interested Television stations for the public to follow,” a statement by the Appeal Court chief registrar partly read.

The Labour Party’s Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar are disputing President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25th presidential election before the tribunal.
Tinubu was named the winner of the last presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Atiku and Obi, on the other hand, accused INEC of preferring Tinubu and indulging in electoral malpractice, which resulted in the president’s victory.
