Manchester United are in advanced talks to secure the signing of Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, with the player flying to England to finalize the deal, News About Nigeria gathered.

The Red Devils have reportedly reached a £6 million agreement with the Turkish club for the 25-year-old international goalkeeper.

This move marks Manchester United’s second goalkeeper acquisition this summer, following the signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan, who is set to become the club’s new number-one.

Bayindir, who has been with Fenerbahce since 2019 and has amassed 145 appearances, seemed to bid farewell to Fenerbahce supporters during their recent match against Twente, where he was an unused substitute in a 5-1 victory.

During his four-year tenure with the Turkish Super Lig club, Bayindir kept 44 clean sheets.

Meanwhile, his impending arrival is expected to pave the way for Dean Henderson, currently Manchester United’s second-choice goalkeeper, to join Crystal Palace.

Talks have reportedly taken place between Manchester United and Crystal Palace regarding a loan-to-buy deal for Henderson, who spent the previous season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

The move follows Vicente Guaita’s omission from the Palace squad after expressing his desire to leave the club.

Henderson, 26, has had a long association with Manchester United, joining their academy in 2011 from Carlisle. Although he has made 29 senior appearances for the club, the majority of his career at Old Trafford has been spent on loan at various clubs.

However, while Bayindir’s signing adds depth to United’s goalkeeper roster, the potential transfer of Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace undoubtedly, presents an opportunity for the English goalkeeper to secure regular playing time and further develop his career.
