Reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain’s wantaway superstar, Kylian Mbappe, could be open to a sensational transfer to Chelsea.

However, News About Nigeria gathered that there is one significant catch to this potential move by young talent.

PSG is looking to offload the French forward after he rejected a world-record transfer to Saudi Arabia and declined to sign a new contract with the club.

It’s understood that PSG values Mbappe at around £215 million, a hefty price that only a few clubs in the world could afford.

Meanwhile, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly engaged in initial talks with PSG’s Nasser Al Khelaifi and promised an offer to reunite Mbappe with former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite the excitement among Chelsea supporters, a deal may not materialize. Reports from Sport in Spain, indicate that Mbappe would only agree to join Stamford Bridge for one year.

The World Cup winner is in the final year of his contract with PSG, giving him the opportunity to leave for free and potentially make his dream move to Real Madrid next summer. He is reluctant to risk this opportunity by committing to a long-term contract with Chelsea.

This situation leaves Chelsea with a slim hope of securing Mbappe on a one-year contract or possibly, through a loan deal, with the player moving to Real Madrid in 2024.

Real Madrid, aware of the situation, is unwilling to match PSG’s transfer fee demands and is content to wait for the chance to sign Mbappe for free next year.

If an agreement is not reached in the coming month, Mbappe could face the prospect of being left out of the PSG squad for the entire season alongside other “undesirable” players.
