Osinbajo served as vice president for eight years and officially left office on May 29, 2023. He took to his Facebook page to share the news of his new appointment with enthusiasm.

Osinbajo revealed that he has been appointed as the Global Advisor to the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (@globalenergyalliance). In this capacity, he will collaborate with the alliance to facilitate the inflow of capital into the clean energy sector and enhance Africa’s participation in the global carbon market through the #ACMI initiative.

The former vice president commended GEAPP for its dedication to supporting developing nations in transitioning to clean energy. Their approach focuses on ensuring universal access to energy, driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and achieving urgent climate objectives.
