Nicholas Jack Davies, the ex-fiancé of Nigerian actress Empress Njamah, has been arrested in Liberia after being accused of scamming and duping women of their fortunes.
Davies, who went by the name Josh Wade in Nigeria, was accused of blackmailing and leaking intimate videos of Njamah a few months ago.
The police chief in Liberia revealed during a press conference that Davies is a notorious scammer who targets wealthy women, enters into romantic relationships with them, and ultimately dupes them of their valuables, News About Nigeria gathered.
Davies was tracked down and arrested in Liberia after 20 Liberian women filed complaints against him for being duped and robbed of their valuables.
The police have called on other victims of Davies to come forward and report their complaints.
Empress Njamah had previously accused Davies of taking over her social media account, physically abusing her, and making intimate videos of her, which he used to blackmail her.
She claimed he disguised himself as a lover at a time when she was vulnerable after the death of her best friend, Ada Ameh.
The police confirmed during the press conference that Davies carried out similar operations against other women who had come forward with complaints.
They revealed that Davies was allegedly in the process of planning another scam against a victim when he was arrested.
The news of Davies’ arrest has sparked reactions on social media, with many commending the Liberian police for their swift action in apprehending him.
Meanwhile, Empress Njamah is yet to comment on his arrest.
