Chelsea midfielder, Mateo Kovacic, has been linked with a summer move to Manchester City.

Kovacic’s agents are reportedly holding talks with Manchester City over a potential permanent move of the Croatian in the next summer transfer window.

News About Nigeria gathered that the midfielder has been a crucial figure for Chelsea since arriving from Real Madrid, initially on loan and then on a permanent basis for £40 million in 2019.

The 28-year-old Chelsea midfielder is in the final 14 months of his current contract with Chelsea and has so far helped the Blues to lift a total of four trophies, since joining the London side.

Kovacic has been rumoured to exit Chelsea. The likes of Manchester United and AC Milan were said to be interest in the Croatian International and former Real Madrid star earlier in this campaign.

Sources report that Kovacic’s entourage is currently in London holding initial discussions with Manchester City ahead of a potential summer deal.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola is said to be a big admirer of Kovacic, who is rated at £30 million.

For the meantime, Kovacic will be with Chelsea throughout the 2022/23 season.
Following the poor run of Chelsea since the start of the season, it is most likely that the club might lose some players.

Recall that Chelsea currently occupies the eleventh position on the Premier leagues table, and is most likely not going to participate in any European competition next season,

Kovacic has proven his mastery of the midfield, taking charge of most of his recent games for Chelsea.
