The police escorts assigned to Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu also known as Burna Boy have been apprehended by the Lagos state police command for attempted murder.

The arrest was made following the report of the shootings that occurred at a popular nightclub in Lagos around 4 am on June, 8th 2022. The Lagos state Bar Beach Police division gave a report that the police escort attached to Burna Boy were five in number.

News About Nigeria gathered that the globally recognized artiste was accompanied by one inspector Ibrahim who went into the club with him, while four other policemen waited outside the premises.

According to statements made by some witnesses, the singer was seen making advances to a married woman despite being with three other women at his table. However, the husband of the woman, who was also at the club, warned the singer against such a move.

The eyes witnesses further stated that the woman’s husband and his friends got angry after Burna Boy made fresh advances to the said married woman and asked trigger-happy inspector Ibrahim to invite the woman to his table. Eventually, an argument ensued between the two parties, resulting in inspector Ibrahim firing multiple shots.

Two people were said to be hit. The two victims later identified as Irebami Lawrence and Tolu were rushed to the Naval Medical Center for immediate treatment. Lawrence was shot in the thigh and Tolu was shot in the head area, according to the eyes witnesses.

The doctor at the hospital said that the phone in one of the victim’s pockets slowed down the impact of the bullet.

However, it was said that during the whole fracas, Burna Boy didn’t show any remorse but rather he was laughing and afterward he embarked on a journey to Spain.
